Ruben Amaro Fires Charlie Manuel; Fixes Nothing

It’s being reported that the Phillies have officially fired manager Charlie Manuel meaning that a golden age of Phillies history has come to an end. Manuel ends his career in Philly with a record of 780-636 and a World Series Title over nine seasons.

While Charlie was a likable guy and it’s sad to see him go, this move was only a matter of time. From the moment Ryne Sandberg was added to the team as a third base coach it seemed like a foregone conclusion that he would get the boot. That time has finally come and now we’ll see if Sandberg can make Ruben’s shit smell like roses (not likely).

We’ll have more to say later…Lots of frustration with this front office right coursing through me.
